Latoya found out she was pregnant with her first child when she was 19. While she and her boyfriend were excited about being parents, Latoya was nervous about giving birth.

The couple enrolled in the United Way-funded CenteringPregnancy program at Wheaton Franciscan - St. Joseph Women’s Outpatient Center. The program, aimed at reducing infant mortality rates, provides group-based prenatal care.

Earlier this year, Latoya delivered a healthy, full-term baby girl. “I’m so thankful for this program. It made me feel special and celebrated at a scary time of my life.”
