The Diversity Leadership Society invites you to Danishes & Diversity on September 22 from 7:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. This event, hosted by ManpowerGroup, is a panel discussion about the true story of how black and brown dollars have made a massive impact in our communities.

Panelists include Angela Adams (left), Chief Experience Officer C.H.A.R.M.; Sheldon Cuffie (middle), Enterprise CIO at American Family Insurance; and Andres Gonzalez (right), VP Community Engagement and Chief Diversity Officer at Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin. The panel will be followed with a cash mob at Sam's Place Restaurant. All proceeds from the event will go to United Way’s Reducing Barriers to Employment and Advancement Initiative.

Empowering Minds

Women United Empowering Minds Luncheon

Join United Way's Women's Leadership Council on Tuesday, September 19 for a luncheon at the Johnson Controls Volunteer Center featuring a panel discussion among subject-matter experts and community leaders about youth mental health.

Learn what our young people are experiencing, how adults can best support them, and what United Way is poised to accomplish with our Empowering Minds initiative. Following the panel, our guests will participate in a kit-packing event, creating mental wellness kits for young people in our schools and community.

Techquity Advisory Council Members

Create Impact Through Techquity's Advisory Council

Join Technology United in bridging the digital divide through United Way's Techquity Initiative, which strives to ensure the digital equity and inclusion of every resident in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, and Washington counties. To support this initiative, Technology United is looking for new Techquity Advisory Council Members! As a Techquity Advisory Council Member, you will be advancing the vision and strategies of Techquity, which include Broadband, Devices, Skills, and Advocacy. Applications are reviewed and approved on a rolling quarterly basis. If you are interested, please apply here by September 30.

Pride United Welcomes Carrie Neumann!

A big, warm, Pride United welcome to council member Carrie Neumann, Senior Director of Field Diversity and Inclusion for Northwestern Mutual. Within her current position, Carrie consults leaders of 80+ offices across the U.S on their Diversity and Inclusion strategies.

Carrie is an expert in building inclusive cultures and speaks on Allyship and Fierce Kindness. She is honored to be on the governance team for the Corporate Pride Employee Resource Group and lead the Northwestern Mutual Pride Field Organization which includes connecting over 700+ LGBTQ+ community members and allies across the nation. Her application of positive psychology principles and brain-based research are key in both leader coaching and enterprise-wide change management strategies to advance diversity and inclusion. Come Volunteer with LINC at Despensa de la Paz Food Pantry!

LINC invites all members and young professionals in their 20s and 30s to come out and volunteer at the Despensa de la Paz Food Pantry on Saturday, September 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Despensa de la Paz Food Pantry is a Friedens Community pantry whose mission is to provide Milwaukee County residents in need with healthy, nutritious food. Volunteer tasks include keeping the pantry stocked throughout the morning, helping community members shop the pantry and pack grocery bags, serving food, and interacting with community members and children at the pantry’s art table. Retire United Recognizes National Diaper Need Awareness Week

Retire United invites you to join the National Diaper Need Awareness Week Diaper Repack Event on Saturday, September 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Volunteer at this family-friendly event to support new parents within the community by assembling both diapers and baby essential kits. You can also help to keep our Diaper Bank stocked by bringing a donation of new, disposable diapers to the event (all sizes needed). The event is located at United Way's Volunteer Center (200 West Pleasant Street).
