On December 14, 2022, at Greenhouse No. 7 at the Mitchell Park Domes, United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County gathered with our campaign co-chairs, cabinet members, and the community to celebrate our 2022 Campaign Close.
Together, we raised $58,815,465 for our community, surpassing our goal set in September of $57 million!
Attendees enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and beverages while mingling and enjoying all that the domes had to offer, including an enchanting light show set to "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the Show Dome.
The event started with a moving performance of "We Are the Drum" from CAPITA (City at Peace in the Arts) Productions, a community theater program and Racial Equity Fund grantee.
We were also thrilled to announce our newest initiative, Empowering Minds, which supports school-based youth mental health services and resources. Earlier this year, we brought together mental health experts to explore the topic of youth mental health within our community. With this new initiative, we can change the lives of high school students by focusing on mental health promotion, early intervention, and treatment services.
As the event continued and we look to 2023, campaign co-chair Judie Taylor said it best, "It's not just about the money. It's about what the dollars will do."
