Women United invites you to help ALICE this tax season!
Women United is committed to helping our community's ALICE population—working people who do not make enough to make ends meet. ALICE works in jobs that are integral to our communities, from child care and home health aides to mechanics – people we rely on every day.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program offers free tax help to low-income people. Volunteers ensure that people and families file taxes accurately and claim relevant credits. In other words: you can help connect families to much-needed refunds.
Women United is hosting a training for VITA intake screeners. These volunteers help taxpayers check in and get organized so they can successfully complete their tax return. During the training, you will become certified to volunteer at La Casa de Esperanza during the 2018 tax season.
