Reader, Tutor, Mentor

Communities and individuals play an important role in the education and future success of our youth. Find an opportunity that fits your committment level and schedule.


Volunteer as a Reader to read one-on-one or in small groups for one hour at least four times per year. Next Door's Read With Me Program helps young children ages 2 to 5 build comprehension and pre-reading skills.


Volunteer as a Tutor to instruct a child one-on-one or in small groups once weekly for at least three months. Interfaith's  RSVP Tutor program is designed to improve the academic performance of MPS students. A variety of volunteer roles are available.

Volunteer as a mentor to provide support and guidance to a child weekly for at least one year. Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches to create positive relationships that have a lasting effect on youth.
