In December 2015, as we prepared to celebrate the end of our very first campaign as the merged United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County, a very special guest paid us a visit; Brian Gallagher. Gallagher is the president & CEO of United Way Worldwide, covering nearly 1,800 communities in 40 countries and territories and engaging more than 3 million volunteers and 10 million donors.
We had the opportunity to sit in and record as Brian gave an interview to BizTimes about his visit to Milwaukee. Brian shares how he began his career with United Way as a management trainee in 1981, and has held several positions with the organization over the years, including president of United Way of Central Ohio. In 2009, as president and CEO of United Way of America, Brian oversaw the merger of United Way of America and United Way International into United Way Worldwide.
Listen in to hear what Brian sees as the main global priorities for United Way and how these priorities shift and change depending on the location being impacted. Brian also shares his predictions for the issues United Way will need to address as the world becomes increasingly digitized and global.
