Summer is in full swing! Here are some fun ways to Live United in August:

  • Run, Walk, or Volunteer for Healthy Birth Outcomes. The second annual HaRUNbee 5k Walk/Run for Healthy Birth Outcomes is this Saturday, August 5th beginning at 9am. Grab a friend or your family, join a team, or come out to volunteer at this fun event kicking off Bronzeville week. Kids and babies welcome! Register here.
  • Help pack backpacks for local kids. Join us at Boston Store in Brookfield Square Mall this Saturday, August 5th from 11am-1pm to stuff one or more backpacks with school supplies for local low-income students. Stop by for 15 minutes…or 2 hours! No registration necessary.
  • Join thousands of corporate volunteers for Season of Caring 2017. Choose from hundreds of projects, both out in the community or at your workplace, and experience the great feeling of doing something good. Find projects and register.
  • Ready, Set, Grow! Resource Fair for Families with Young Children. Music! Snacks! Face painting! Haircuts! Learn more about developmental screenings and other resources available for you and your family. Saturday, August 12 from 12pm-3pm at Kadish Park. No registration necessary.
  • Learn from Local Leaders. Join the Emerging Leaders for their annual Leadership Panel on how to promote generational inclusiveness in the workplace. Tuesday, August 15, 7:30am. Learn more and register.
  • Celebrate the 2017 United Way Campaign Kickoff at the Zoo! Come on out to meet our 2017 campaign co-chairs, enjoy delicious food and beverage, and hang out with the Apes of Africa! RSVP here.
