Thriving Waukesha County

Thriving Waukesha County

After seeing the effects of the 2008 recession had on local non-profits the Impact Leadership Council, a group of representatives representing funded partners of the former United Way in Waukesha County, started discussions about potential strategies for coping with the economic times and rallied around a central theme: how can nonprofits thrive in the new reality of fewer dollars and more demand for their services.

Thriving Waukesha County was formed from these initial discussions with the purpose and intent of enhancing communications amongst all partners to discuss current community related issues and increase collaboration among local non-profit organizations. The group brought on new stakeholders such as funders and government and community leaders to drive the mission of “building a thriving and sustainable non-profit community in Waukesha County.”
