Emerging Leader Newsletter - Spring 2012
Emerging Leader CEO Panel - Young Entrepreneurs
The CEO Panel is one of the Emerging Leaders signature events. Moderator Tina Chang of SysLogic Inc. led the discussion as panelists Giacomo Falluca of Palermo's Pizza, Juli Kaufmann of Fix Development and Andy Nunemaker of Dynamis Corporation gave their perspective on what it takes to be a successful young entrepreneur in Milwaukee. The group was welcomed to Johnson Controls by Shontra Powell, VP & GM Retail Markets - Power Solutions US & Canada.
Special thanks to our council volunteers who helped plan this event - Tina Chang, Jamie Delgadillo, Bryan House, Dan Katt, Chris Layden and Meshika Stewart. Thanks to Johnson Controls for hosting.
Emerging Leader Council Members Honored
In March, two of our Emerging Leaders were honored as 40 under 40 winners by the Business Journal of Milwaukee:
- David Gay, Ernst & Young, LLP
- Carrie Killoran, Aurora Health Care
Congratulations and thank you for all you do to make our community a better place to live, work and play.

Eager Readers Receive New BooksWe'd like to say thank you to the 125 volunteers who signed up for the Emerging Readers program. The first book drop took place earlier this month. Over 200 local children have been matched with United Way donors to receive new books and reading supplies three times throughout 2012. Children receiving books are between the ages of 2-13 and participate in youth programming at the following agency program partner agencies: COA, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Boys and Girls Clubs.
The Emerging Readers Program provides the opportunity to make a positive impact in the life of a local child by sharing the joy of reading, while engaging your family in philanthropy and volunteerism.
If you are interested in getting involved please contact Jessica Wagner-Schultz at (414) 263-8211 or jwagnerschultz@unitedwaymilwaukee.org.
