Women have raised and invested more than $1.5 billion in United Way nationally since 2004, outpacing all other donor groups.Locally, more than 2,000 members of Women United raise over $16 million annually, making it the largest Women United program in the world! From Teen Pregnancy Prevention to student mentoring, Women United — led by the 30 Women's Leadership Council Members — have made truly an impact that will last generations. United Way is excited to offer its first virtual volunteer experience: Notes of Encouragement! Words of support can bring comfort and hope to individuals struggling in their daily lives, and it is easier than ever to share an uplifting message.

In just five minutes, from any device, volunteers can create a Note of Encouragement to be shared with people in programs at United Way’s partner agencies. There are also two pre-written notes to sign or use as a sample. Volunteers can write notes of encouragement to victims of sexual assault in April and to seniors in May. Get started here.

Getting Ready for the Real World Mentoring Series
On the mornings of May 3, 10, and 17 volunteers will lead discussions on professionalism, résumés, and interviewing with young women attending James Madison Academic Campus.
My Life! My Plan!
IT United invites professionals to volunteer as a Career Coach on May 9 at Bradley Technology & Trade School to help students explore careers paths in IT and STEM via a My Life! My Plan! workshop.
Women United Bruncheon
Celebrate the power of women as philanthropists, volunteers, and change makers at the annual Women United Bruncheon on Thursday, May 25 at 11:00 AM at The Pfister Hotel. Registration will open mid-April.
