Congratulations to Gail Lione, local Women’s Leadership Council member, who was named Chair of the Global Women United Leadership Council during the #WUSummit17 in Cincinnati last week. Three of our local Women’s Leadership Council members presented at the national summit about our success with Teen Pregnancy Prevention and how women in Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County are continuing to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community. Members of Women United are “leading the charge and inspiring the change” in communities across the nation and the globe.

Retirees Promote Volunteerism

A Luther Manor Resident delivers school supplies.

Luther Manor partnered with Retire United for a fun volunteer project. Luther Manor’s residents, staff, and neighbors donated, sorted, and packed school supplies for United Way’s Backpack Coalition. They also wrote notes of encouragement to students and delivered the bags to Backpack Coalition HQ in Waukesha. The drive was so successful that there were supplies left over, which Luther Manor plans to donate to local teachers mid-year. Read the full story.
