United Way COVID-19 Response

Friends,

I hope you and your family are doing well and finding moments of peace during this time.

At United Way, we are so grateful for the community’s support of our COVID-19 Urgent Needs Fund, which allows us to meet the increased needs of our nonprofit partners.

More than 350 individual donors and companies have made contributions to this Fund, including Baird, BMO Harris Bank, Deloitte, 88Nine, GE Healthcare, HSA Bank, Landmark Credit Union, Meijer, Northwestern Mutual, UW Credit Union, We Energies Foundation, and Weyco.

If you have already made a donation, thank you so much. If you haven’t had a chance to give, donations to the COVID-19 Urgent Needs Fund can be made here.

Here are just some of the needs we have been able to respond to with your donations:
  • Personal protection equipment for local medical clinics to allow them to make home visits to medically vulnerable individuals.

  • Funding to allow shelters to stay open 24/7, rather than requiring daytime exits.

  • Laptops for housing support programs so they can continue their work remotely.

  • Meals and emergency food for shelters that can no longer safely accept outside volunteer support.

  • Diapers and no-touch thermometers for child care centers that remain open.

  • Cleaning supplies and sanitizer for clinics and shelters.

  • ...and so much more.

Visit our website for daily updates on the work your donations are doing.

We are so grateful to our Board of Directors for approving a temporary measure to allow our program partner agencies flexibility in how they use their United Way funds over the next three months. We know our partners are experiencing unprecedented challenges and hope this flexibility allows them to continue to provide the care and services their clients need. Read more here.

If you or someone you know needs help, dial 2-1-1 or text your zip code 898-211 to be connected to a resource specialist.

On our website, we also link to tips for staying healthy and safe from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Thank you again for your support and for Living United,

Amy Lindner Signature
