Friends,

As we continue to learn more about the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and developments in our region, here is an update from our team here at United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County:

Our number one priority is the safety and well-being of our staff, volunteers, agency partners, and the community we serve.

United Way's internal team is assessing the situation daily and following all recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

If you are in need of services, dial 2-1-1 or text your zip code to 898-211 to be connected to someone who can help. In anticipation of increased call volume, you can also access resources by visiting the IMPACT 2-1-1 website.

Please be assured that while we remain focused on the health and safety of our staff and those around us, we also are focused on providing continued service to the community.

Agency partners: Please keep us informed of any program challenges that may result from this situation. Our team is here to help and will continue reaching out with ongoing updates.

Donors and partner businesses: We appreciate your continued investment in United Way's work to drive strategic impact in the health, education, and financial stability of everyone in our community.

If you'd like to make an additional donation to help meet the increased needs of our nonprofit partners during this time, including purchasing necessary supplies and increasing staff support, click here to give to United Way's COVID-19 Urgent Needs Fund.

In the midst of this urgent situation, we want to remind everyone of the vital role the arts play in our community. If you haven't yet made a gift to the United Performing Arts Fund this year, their annual campaign is ongoing. Please consider making a gift here.

United Way committee volunteers: Your United Way staff liaison will contact you via email as soon as possible with next steps regarding your upcoming scheduled meetings.

In line with CDC recommendations, we are evaluating our options for our upcoming volunteer and community events. We will communicate any updates via our website and social media channels.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility in this developing situation. Thanks for your care in helping us all stay well.
