Mary Lou Young Announces Her Retirement

Mary Lou Young, President & CEO of United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County, will retire on December 31, 2017.

Join us in congratulating Mary Lou on her exciting next chapter! Since joining United Way in 2009, Mary Lou has been a role model to our staff, volunteers, and donors by her continued compassion and community kindness. Under Mary Lou’s leadership our organization experienced substantial growth, with the annual campaign reaching unprecedented heights from $45.5 million in 2009 to over $60 million in 2016, including the successful integration of the United Way in Waukesha County.

“Mary Lou has been the driving force behind so many successful impact strategies and partnerships that exist in our community,” said Greg Marcus, president and CEO of The Marcus Corporation and current chairman of the United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County Board.

Listen to Mary Lou reflect on her career and share why it is the right time for retirement.
