United Way's annual Day of Action, presented by the Emerging Leaders, is a family-friendly volunteer opportunity where hundreds of individuals in our community harness the volunteer spirit to improve local conditions and build stronger communities to live in.
Opportunity at a Glance
In the past, Day of Action volunteers have created literacy kits; planted garden beds to foster civic pride and promote affordable, healthy food choices; assembled a Born Learning Trail; and much more!
Last year, more than 90 individuals came together to work on beautification projects at H.W. Longfellow School, a Milwaukee Community School. Thank you to all the volunteers who joined us for our 2018 Day of Action!
On June 21, Emerging Leaders will host Day of Action at Zablocki Elementary.
Projects at Zablocki Elementary, one of United Way’s Community Schools, include indoor and outdoor beautifications and kitpacking summer science kits for area youth.
Emerging Leaders is also collecting supplies needed in Zablocki Elementary's Parent Resource Center. They are in need of children's underwear, socks, deodorant, and dental hygiene products. Supplies can be brought to Day of Action on June 21 or shipped directly to United Way via our Amazon Wishlist.
