More than 500 people attended the Women United Bruncheon on May 31. Guests learned about the needs of women throughout their lifetime from speaker Anna Maria Chávez and honored Betsy Brenner as the Linda T. Mellowes Woman of the Year. The Emerging Leaders led 90 volunteers for Day of Action at H.W. Longfellow School, a Milwaukee Community School. Volunteers packed 1,000 summer activity kits, repainted games on the playground, and fixed up the school’s garden. United Ways hosted Day of Action in more than 400 communities across the globe on June 21.
