2015 Volunteer of the Year: Don Pike

Main Content

It is an honor to receive this award especially since I know that there are many other deserving individuals who could have received it. I give back to our community because of the many blessings God has given my family and in doing so have found satisfaction, friendship and blessings in return.

At Habitat for Humanity, there are about a dozen retirees who volunteer regularly as though it was their own home and who truly enjoy working together. In addition to regular volunteers there are individual and group volunteers, who come ready to work hard and with a sincere desire to help provide shelter for families in need.

I hope my reflection on my experience will encourage others to want to get involved and give back. You will find great people to work with and help others in need.

Don Pike will be presented his award at the 2015 Volunteer Recognition & Celebration Luncheon on Thursday, April 16 at the Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee.
