United Way works with local, state, and federal policy makers to support policy solutions which enable all members of our community to thrive and create real and lasting change.
United Way provides our communities with tools, resources, and opportunities to engage elected leaders and advocate on behalf of our community.
No matter your time or experience, United Way offers an advocacy strategy that’s right for you. These include opportunities to:
- Organize: Find, invite, and coordinate peers around a specific issue.
- Educate: Learn about an issue through panel events, speakers, or issue briefs.
- Communicate: Share what you learn with your peers and professional networks.
- Policy Work & Outreach: Track policy actions, build relationships with legislators, and use our toolkits.
- Engage: Participate in legislative visits, Advocacy Hill Days, and other engagement campaigns.
