United Way of Greater Milwaukee hosted a young professionals volunteer event Saturday, October 11 at the Fondy Farm.  The  80-acre plot of land in Port Washington Wisconsin, is operated by Milwaukee’s Fondy Food Center.

The Fondy Farm Project is designed to help new and established growers find and maintain access to good land in the Milwaukee area. In turn, the farmers supply produce to part the city’s north side, where access to nutritious food is limited.

The project is the first for United Way LINC (Lead. Impact. Network. Change.) The group hosts volunteer events that encourage young professionals to get behind worthy causes, make a difference they can see, and hangout afterwards for food and drink.
