As temperatures drop, please share this important information about warming rooms with folks who may benefit. We will continue to share updates on warming room resources throughout the cold-weather season.

All those seeking shelter, energy assistance or other supportive services in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, and/or Waukesha counties should contact 2-1-1 IMPACT, Inc. for assistance and referrals to community resources through any of the following means:

Milwaukee County Resources

The Milwaukee Continuum of Care will provide overnight shelters for anyone in need this week. Warming room locations will open on nights when temperatures are forecasted to be 20 degrees or below.

  • Repairers of the Breach at 1335 W. Vliet Street, Milwaukee – 7-10 p.m. and overnight until 7 a.m.
  • Capuchin Community Services at 924 W. State Street, Milwaukee– 7 p.m.-7 a.m.
  • Milwaukee Rescue Mission’s emergency shelter at 1820 W. Wells St.

The following locations are available for people seeking shelter throughout the day:

  • Repairers of the Breach located at 1335 W. Vliet St., Milwaukee, Monday – Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The following Salvation Army Corps locations:

  • 1645 N. 25th St., Milwaukee, Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • 4129 W. Villard Ave., Milwaukee, Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • 2900 W. Cold Spring Rd., Greenfield, Monday – Thursday from 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Any public buildings, such as Milwaukee Public Library branches or Milwaukee County senior centers.

Waukesha County Resources

Hebron House of Hospitality, Inc. operates 3 sites; Hebron House of Hospitality’s main office is located inside of St. Matthias Church (111 E. Main Street, Waukesha 53186, 262-549-8720)

  • Hebron House (812 N. East Ave, Waukesha 53186, 262-549-8722) Single women, and families with children. Open 24 hours a day. (Warming Center- each individual can warm up or cool down for 2-3 hours).
  • Siena House (1519 Summit Ave, Waukesha 53188, 262-549-8732) Single men, open 6p-7a daily, 24 hours on Sundays. (Warming Center- each individual can warm up or cool down for 2-3 hours).
  • Jeremy House (1301 E. Moreland Blvd, Waukesha 53186, 262-549-8735) Safe Haven for individuals with a severe and persistent mental illness, disability and chronically homeless. This program pulls individuals into housing from Coordinated Entry. Open 24 hours a day. (Warming Center- each individual can warm up or cool down for 2-3 hours).

The Salvation Army of Waukesha County provides shelter for single men. During the winter months of 2019, additional beds will be added to the Salvation Army Overflow Shelter on 12/15/19. (445 Madison Street, Waukesha 53188, 262-547-7367)

Family Promise of Waukesha County serves families on a nightly basis, with a rotating schedule with local churches. (543 A J Allen Circle, Suite D, 262-968-2321)

The Women’s Center provides supportive services to those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and trafficking. 24-hour hotline 262-542-3828 (505 N. East Ave, Waukesha 53186)

Hope Center is open daily for individuals to warm up and have breakfast and lunch. Dinner is served on Mon, Wed and Fri). Clothing shop is available as well. (502 N. East Ave, Waukesha 53186, 262-542-8726)

The Waukesha Public Library is open daily, Monday-Thursday 9am-8:30pm, Friday 9am-6pm, Saturday 9am-5pm, and Sunday 1pm-5pm (321 Wisconsin Ave, Waukesha 53186, 262-524-3680) https://waukeshapubliclibrary.org/

James Place (129 W. Broadway, Waukesha 53186, 262-544-9472) open on Mon, Tues, & Thurs 9am- 3pm

The FOOD Pantry Serving Waukesha County (1301 Sentry Drive, Waukesha, WI 53186, www.waukeshafoodpantry.org,

  • Main Number: 262-542-5300, Community Outreach Number: 262-522-2378) Open for Services: Monday – Friday 1:00PM to 3:00 PM, Thursday 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM
