The Legacy of Joe Lubar

This Memorial Day weekend, United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County and the Brewers Community Foundation will honor and remember Joe Lubar during “United Way Game Day” at Miller Park on Sunday, May 29.

Joe Lubar, son of David and Madeleine Lubar, passed away in February of 2011 following a skiing accident in Colorado. Following Joe’s death, his family decided to honor his memory by setting up the Joseph Rochford Lubar Emergency Fund through United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County. This fund is an emergency resource for United Way agencies that provide relief to our community following disasters such as extreme heat or cold, power outages, fires, floods and other potentially life-threatening events. This fund allows United Way to provide basic needs to local agencies and quickly respond to community urgent needs.

“United Way is fortunate to have the Lubar family serve as champions for our community and we feel blessed that United Way was chosen as the recipient of this fund in memory of Joe Lubar,” said Mary Lou Young, president and CEO, United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County.”
