Mary Lou's Closet
Across the nation, Mary Lou Young is considered a national thought leader and an agent for change. As the former President and CEO of United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County, Mary Lou raised millions of dollars to create lasting change in her community.
Her legacy of service lives on with Mary Lou’s Closet. This year-round supply drive will help to mobilize basic need items for youth. Donations will be distributed through the Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership and United Way’s family of funded agencies and partners.
October – December 2019
Donate youth and teen (adult-sized) coats, mittens, scarves, boots, and hats. Amazon Wish List.
Professional Accessories Drive
Donate new or like-new women’s professional work bags, as well as fashion scarves, and jewelry.
Accessories may seem like an “extra” but we know when women feel proud, their heads are held higher and interviews go better.
That’s why we are encouraging you to donate professional work bags, fashion scarves, and jewelry. Collected items will be distributed at United Way’s annual women’s job seminars this fall.
All items must be delivered to United Way by November 14.
