Then they found Rooted & Rising, a supportive housing community for working families with limited incomes. Rooted & Rising is a United Way partner in Safe & Stable Homes, our initiative to prevent homelessness.

United Way invests in trusted local partners like Rooted & Rising and brings them together around one shared goal, so families like Phillis’ have a stable place to call home.

• Nearly 32,000 families kept in stable homes through Safe & Stable Homes: Ending Family Homelessness (since 2020).
• More than 5,100 people moving past barriers to employment through Reducing Barriers to Employment & Advancement (since 2023).
• Nearly 31,000 computers put in local hands through Techquity (since 2024).
• More than 5,300 students supported as six high schools made system-level mental wellness changes (since 2024).
