Women's Leadership

Women's Leadership mobilizes a powerful network of women who strengthen our community through an investment of talent, compassion and philanthropy. Women’s Leadership focuses on impacting problems that principally affect women and girls.

Member Criteria

  • Annual individual gift of $1,200 or more, or
  • Annual joint gift of $2,400 or more

Member Benefits

  • Recognition in the United Way Leadership Registry (optional)
  • Exclusive invitations to member events and volunteer opportunities
  • Additional educational and networking opportunities


  • Women United Bruncheon: Annual event that raises over $50,000 each year to support and bring awareness to healthy girls programing. Past events have featured key note speakers such as a panel on Infant Mortality; President of United Way U.S.A., Stacy Stewart;  Founding Dean of UW-Milwaukee’s School of Public Health, Dr. Magda Peck.
  • The Women’s Leadership Reading & Mentoring Program has engaged over 300 young women and 130 volunteers in reading and mentoring opportunities since its inception.
  • Since 2002, Women's Leadership members have contributed over 1.5 milion to the Healthy Girls initiative.

Volunteer Opportunities

Getting Ready for the Real World Mentoring Series

Join the Women's Leadership Council in support of James Madison Academic Campus (JMAC), to mentor young women on topics of professionalism, resume building and getting interview ready. Upcoming sessions: November 2, November 9, and November 16, 2016.
